Facebook Business Manager & Pixel setup

Facebook’s pixel er blandt de stærkeste værktøjer til online marketing og data analyse. Vi har gjort det nemt for alle arrangører at udnytte den hos os.

Facebook’s Pixel has become an essential part of online marketing in record time, and any marketing expert will encourage you to get started using it if you haven’t already. In addition to marketing optimization, the pixel also gives you a lot of data for statistics and analysis at a highly demographically differentiated level.

Once the pixel is installed on a website, it tracks your users and selected “Events” that gives you three valuable outputs to work on.

  • Tracking visitors for use in targeted ads
  • Measuring ad preformance vs. ad spend (ROAS)
  • User information on visitors for audience analysis and segmentation

We’ve done the hard part – here are your 4 steps

This article will focus on the actual setup of the Facebook Pixel, so you can get started tracking your traffic and events with us. We have divided the setup into 4 parts:

  1. Creating a Facebook Business Account
  2. Setting up the Facebook Business Account
  3. Creating Pixel
  4.  Adding Pixel ID to Tikkio Event Manager

When your pixel ID is added to your account with us, each of your events automatically pore, along with selected events and related parameters – in other words, we have done all the programming work for you.

If you also want to track on your own website, then it requires that you add respectively. your “Pixel Basecode” as well as the codes and parameters of each of the events you want to track.

1. Creating a Facebook Business Account

Go to https://business.facebook.com/ og click “Create Account”

Then you have to fill in the information that is requested and click “Submit”.

Click “Create account” in the top right corner.

Fill in your details – these will form the basis of your Facebook Business account. Facebook Business is a kind of parallel platform for “regular” Facebook, which you also need to have an account personal account with, in order to be able to sign up for Facebook Business Manager.

2. Setting up the Facebook Business Account

At this point, link your page to Facebook Business, Select / Create an Ad Account, and assign roles.

First, link your page as shown below. Click on “add page” and then select the page you want to associate.

Start by adding a Fan page to your new Facebook Business account.

Facebook automatically suggests all available pages on their platform, but you must have administrator access as a “private” Facebook user for your own Fan page in order to add it to the Business account.

The next step for your new Business account is to link an ad account – or create a new ad account. If you already have a personal ad account that has been used exclusively for ads for the business you just created a Business account for, then it would be best to transfer the existing ad account. However, if your existing ad account has been used for a variety of purposes, it’s a good idea to create a new ad account from scratch.

Go to “Buisness Settings” from the burger menu in the top left corner.

Select “Ad Accounts” in the menu on the left. Then “+ Add” in the middle of the page – and then choose to associate an existing ad account or (as in the example above) create a new ad account.

Give your ad account a name that matches the purpose or business you intend to use it for.

One can have several Fan pages associated with the same Business account, so it’s good practice to create an ad account for each Fan page so the ads don’t flow together – neither financially nor strategically.

In conclusion, you must assign roles. This is done by first clicking “Add People” and then “Manage ad account”.

Give relevant employees or partners access to your new “Assets” in Business Manager.

When you work with your new Facebook Business account, it happens in Facebook Business Manager (FBM), which is a special module – or a parallel platform – for business users on Facebook. Your Fan pages, ad accounts, etc. are called “Assets” under your FBM account. Access to the assets can be assigned to different people and partners – ie. employees or eg an external marketing agency.

3. Creating Pixel

Now you need to create your Pixel. To do this, go to “Pixel” under “Data sources” in the menu on the left and click “+ Add”.

Select a name for your Pixel and type https://tikkio.com as your URL. You can also choose to use your own URL, it does not affect the pixel’s features and effect.

Select “Pixels” from the menu on the left and click “+ Add” in the middle of the page to add a new pixel.

Give your pixel a name that matches the company that you intend to use the pixel with.

You can create several different pixels, so it is good practice to create a pixel for each company that you work with in FBM. As a rule of thumb one pixel per fan page that one manages. The same pixel can easily be used for the same business on several different websites, eg your own website and at Tikkio.

Assign access to the pixel to the people who need to work with it in the FBM.

Finally, people can be added to the account. Click on “Add People” and then “Manage Pixel”. You can assign different rights to different people, so some can only read and analyze on the pixel’s data, while others have the ability to edit the setup and settings of the pixel.

4. Adding Pixel ID to Tikkio Event Manager

You have now created a Facebook Pixel ID. It will be available as shown below. Copy the Pixel ID so that it can be added to your Event Manager account at Tikkio. We have provided the entire set-up of your event codes and value parameters on our site so that you avoid all the complex programming.

Copy your pixel ID from FBM.

Then go to Event Manager at Tikkio.com and select “Account & Reports” in the menu to the left. Select the “Marketing” tab and insert the pixel ID into the Facebook field. Remember to press “save”.

Fill in the field with your Pixel ID in Tikkio Event Manager – the rest we have taken care of.

Your pixel will now track all activity on all your visitors and their events at Tikkio so you can analyze, target and measure your ads and guests. The most essential events count:

  • ViewContent (visits on event)
  • AddToCart (ticket added cart)
  • GoToCart (user proceed to checkout)
  • EmptyCart (checkout not completed)
  • Purchase (purchase completed)

We send the following parameters to the relevant events:

  • Event ID
  • Ticket ID
  • Event name + Ticket name
  • Numbers of tickets
  • Ticket price
  • Purchase price

We also send our entire catalog to Facebook, so that it can be matched with your events and used for dynamic ads. We are still in a beta phase with this feature, so if you want early access then you can contact us via the live chat in Event Manager.
