Biography:
A Lifelong Dedication to Music and Service
Allow me to humbly share the story of a lifelong passion for music and a deep commitment to serving others. Guided by the wisdom of my father, I discovered the joy of playing the guitar at a tender age of 12. Together, we delved into the timeless songs crafted by icons of the 60s and 70s like The Beatles, Jim Croce, Harry Chapin, Cat Stevens, and James Taylor. These influential melodies laid the foundation for my musical journey, which soon led me to perform my first gigs at the age of 14. As I honed my skills, I ventured into playing bass in a punk band and lending my voice to bands covering the likes of Nine Inch Nails, The Smashing Pumpkins, Nirvana, and Bush.
After completing high school, I found myself at a crossroads, contemplating the path that lay ahead. Inspired by my family's noble military background—my father a Navy Corpsman and my grandfathers seasoned war veterans—I felt a deep sense of duty to serve our nation. In pursuit of this calling, I joined the US Coast Guard, stationed aboard the Medium Endurance Coast Guard Cutter Reliance (WMEC-615) in Kittery, ME. There, I was honored to take part in numerous search and rescue missions in the North Atlantic, extending aid to distressed fishermen and recreational mariners. Additionally, we undertook critical operations, combating drug trafficking in the Caribbean and intercepting illegal immigration from Colombia to Florida, all while working tirelessly to preserve endangered marine species and protect nature's delicate balance. As a maritime responder following the 9/11 attacks, our unit ensured port security for prominent locations such as New York Harbor, Boston Harbor, and the Chesapeake Bay. Moreover, we had the privilege of providing port security for a speech by President George W. Bush in Charleston Harbor. Amidst the challenges of life at sea, I sought to uplift the spirits of my fellow crew members, sharing my musical talents and providing moments of respite in the midst of their demanding duties.
Following an honorable discharge, I relocated to Wilmington, NC, where my passion for music continued to drive my journey. As the frontman of the Woodwork Roadshow, a humble three-piece bluegrass band, I had the opportunity to perform alongside esteemed North Carolina artists and open for renowned acts such as Robert Earl Keen, Sam Bush, The Avett Brothers, Lee Ann Rimes, Luke Bryan, and Lee Brice. It was during an unforgettable show at Williams-Brice Stadium, where Kenny Chesney's unwavering dedication, even amidst adversity, profoundly inspired me, reinforcing my unwavering commitment to the stage. These experiences left an indelible mark on my heart, inspiring me to pursue my musical aspirations even further.
After graduating from the esteemed University of South Carolina, I set my sights on the enchanting city of Nashville. Embracing a nomadic existence, I fearlessly performed
