After 300 years Isonians return to the forests of Earth, accompanied by a small group of the People of Earth. On Isona, many of our people suffered, due to the scarcity of native flora and fauna. Now, we hope to reconnect to the soil, trees, and fungi we left behind, and feel ourselves at one with nature once more.
Forest Landing includes a meditative workshop and a guided forest walk. During the workshop, Isonians will be invited to set intentions for the forest visit, reconnect with Earthly myths and stories from their childhood, and prepare their senses for the encounter with Norwegian plants and animals. The forest walk will bring Isonians together with the People of Earth to share a connected experience in the woods, exchanging values, customs, and rituals associated with the natural world.
Join us for an ecotechnic and soil-channeling journey that will play an important role in the rekindling of relations between Isonians and the rich ecosystem of the Home Planet.
Forest Landing is a chamber event taking place during the performance and living installation Home Planet, providing a scheduled meeting between the People of Earth and the travellers from the planet of Isona. The travellers from Isona are played by a group of people who are participating in the full performance, living in a building in the centre of Oslo four days in October, exploring the city and culture of Oslo. Buying a ticket for the chamber event Forest Landing will also give you the opportunity to visit the Isonian’s base location.
Participation does not require any preparation, and you will learn everything you need to know in order to participate after arriving on the location. You don’t have to perform in front of an audience, but you (and other participants) are an integral part of the chamber event and will be asked to embody yourself, a person from the Earth.
The creators behind Forest Landing are Cyrus Clarke, Monika Seyfried and Juliana Lewis.
Forest Landing consists of two events, and you can participate in one or both.
The forest walk takes place Sunday October 20th, 13:00-16:30.
There is also an optional workshop, taking place Saturday October 19th, 19:00-21:00.
Meet at Storgata 5 for both events.
The event may be photographed/filmed for public use.
