D.W. Griffiths filmstil er særlig berømt for bruken av kryssklipping, slagscener innspilt på location og fotograf Billy Bitzers bevegelige kamera, nærbilder og avanserte lyssetting. Med Griffith ble den klassisk fortellende filmens grammatikk utviklet gjennom 1910-tallet.

Broken Blossoms forteller historien om den unge jenta Lucy Burrows som blir misbrukt av sin alkoholiserte far. Hun møter Cheng Huan, en godhjertet kinesisk mann som forelsker seg i henne, men det er en kjærlighet som ikke kan blomstre. Lillian Gish spiller Lucy, en av stumfilmtidens største skuespillere. Hun er for stumfilmens kvinnelige skuespillere hva Charlie Chaplin og Buster Keaton er for de mannlige. En kjent anekdote sier mye om henne: I en film hun gjorde sent i karrieren ble hun roset for et fantastisk close-up. Hennes medspiller Bette Davis sa tørt at «det skulle bare mangle, hun oppfant det».

If it's not there at all, the purchase has not been concluded and you can't expect to gain entrance to the event.
