Singer, songwriter and self proclaimed optimist, Claire Kelly, made the move from Milwaukee to Nashville in 2016 to pursue her music and songwriting career full time. Since then she’s toured internationally, had a song placed on a primetime television show and has won multiple songwriting contests, most recently through world famous The Bluebird Cafe. Nashville has quickly become home.
Claire has spent the last several years writing for film and tv, her music has been placed on ABC Network’s Station 19, HBO Max’s 12 Dates of Christmas and a GTS Kombucha commercial. The Nashville Songwriter’s Association (NSAI) recently interviewed her about her success in the sync licensing world as an independent artist. In 2020 she was named a finalist for both The Kerrville Folk Festival “Grassy Hill New Folk Songwriting Competition” and the “Songwriter Serenade” songwriting contest in La Grange, TX.
Claire has loved getting to share her songs and stories with people all over the globe. From concerts in living rooms to critically acclaimed festivals and everything in between, she’s opened up for acts like Colbie Caillat, Anderson East and 2019 American Idol winner, Maddie Popee. She has also performed at festivals across the states such as Milwaukee’s Summerfest, Kerrville Folk Festival, The Muscle Shoals Songwriters Festival, The Lights Fest, Steel Bridge Song Fest and Mile of Music.
Her latest project “The Scenic Route” speaks to life’s unexpected twists and turns and finding the beauty in the detours. This album was recorded and produced by Nick Stone of Nashville based folk/blues trio, South For Winter. “While there’s no shortage of young women armed with an acoustic guitar and a lovely voice, Kelly has the chops to be everyone’s new favorite artist, and when she sings that she’s not selling out arenas quite yet, we all get the feeling that it’s certainly on the horizon.” - Take Effect Music Review
