Formed in 2005, Tyranex is a powerful and energetic metal band from Sweden who take
their influences from the golden era of 1980's thrash. TYRANEX are true, old school,
thrash/speed metal with attitude! Drawing equally from both the European and American
scenes of the time. With intense riffs and powerful female lead vocals provided by acclaimed
frontwoman Linnea Landstedt the band are both classic and yet individual in style.
The debut album "Extermination Has Begun" was released in 2011 and led to international
recognition with gigs around Europe. The follow-up "Unable to tame" came in 2014 and set
the bar higher. 2017 saw the release of "Death Roll", wilder and more intense than before
but with more developed vocals and songwriting.
TYRANEX toured until the pandemic broke out and during this time the band established
themselves in Gothenburg (SWE) with a new line-up.
After the new start, TYRANEX worked on songwriting for their fourth album "Reasons For
The Slaughter" (2023) which is the most elaborate and meticulous work the band has
produced so far. Musically and production-wise, this is a highlight of TYRANEX's career and
the journey continues.
During the years of their existence, TYRANEX has toured in Sweden, Finland, Germany,
Netherlands, Belgium, Spain and France. They’ve also played at major metal festivals such
as Metal Assault, Jalometalli, Steelfest, Taunus metal and the Gefle Metal Festival
TYRANEX consists of Linnea Landstedt (guitars and vocals), Will Tomao (guitars), Martin
Petersson (bass) and Pontus Pettersson-Gull (drums).

A few good friends constitute the line-up of UNDER THE OAK:
Jostein - Vokal (ex. Fury, ex Testimony)
Marius - Trommer (ex. Terrazone, ex. Mecalimb)
Hillbilly Bill - Bass (ex. Excelsis, ex Dressed to Kiss, also plays in Rövballebandet and Nostalgic Groove)
Thomas Bolverk - Gitar (ex. Darkness, ex. Black Currant, ex. Images at Twilight, ex. Ragnarok, also plays in :BOLVERK: and Venom tribute-band Welcome to Hell)
The band hasn’t existed for many years, but the members have roots in the metal-scene back to the eighties, and they are closing in on their 40th anniversaries for playing in metalbands. UNDER THE OAK have released the following albums:
Ripped up by the Roots (2020)
Rattus Norvegicus (2022)
The third album is planned for the fall of 2024. Musically they have their feet well planted in the Thrash Metal and Heavy Metal of the eighties. They see their own music as a tribute to this decade and to underline that, they usually spice up their live-shows and albums with a cover tune or three. It has been said that the band would have been a leading act if these albums were released 35 years ago, but the truth is of course that either Ripped up by the Roots or Rattus Norvegicus could have been made without the inspiration of those band that formed the genre back then.
