Solbrud is back with their third album ‘Vemod’ (Danish for sadness). A work where the band’s unique black metal accompanied by pessimistic premonitions of the imminent fall of mankind forges a grandiose, poetic and deeply personal expression. On ‘Vemod’, Solbrud opens up an all encompassing dimension of sound and words, in which the listener encounters the tale of what we are, what we were and what the world one day will be without us.
Mutilation Rites was conceived in Brooklyn, New York, by Justin Ennis and Michael Dimmitt in January 2009. To date, they have released two eps, two full-lengths, and Gilead Media is putting
out their third full-length, entitled Chasm, in March 2018.
After numerous line-up changes the band now consists of George Paul (guitar and vocals), Ryan Jones (ex-Today is The Day, bass and vocals), Michael Dimmitt (guitars), and Tyler Coburn (drums, from Yautja).
Mutilation Rites is a black metal band, but each release has flirted with influences from doom, thrash, rock ‘n’ roll and now on the upcoming release, death metal has crept into the sound. This new release debuts Coburn on the drums, significantly affecting the overall sound, allowing further exploration into new musical territories.
