In 2024 Andreas Røysum Ensemble started working with the legendary Chicago-based poet, singer and renaissance man Marvin Tate. Now it ́s finally time for the world to start enjoying the fruits of this meeting of visionaries. Marvin Tate has been a driving force in Chicago culture since the mid-eighties. Initially making a name for himself as the slam poetry champion of the city, the nineties saw him leading the musical groups Uptighty (with Leroy Bach of Wilco, and Dan Bitney of Tortoise) and D-settlement. “Marvin Tate amalgams everything we ́ve ever wanted Black music to be with regard to strength and uncompromised openness and conduit. Marvin is a conduit and a sage.
