Mika Häkki & Dark Yonder

Mika Häkki is more known for the loud fuzzy bass tones he plays in Monolord. In 2020 he started releasing his solo work under his own name as a singer songwriter. What started as a dark Americana project would soon develop into a full band with roots in Americana but drifts away in psychedelic sounds and grooves. Together with his band Dark Yonder, they have opened for acts like Brant Bjork Trio and King Dude. This spring they played the legendary festival SXSW in Austin, Texas.

In 2025 Mika Häkki and Dark Yonder entered the recording studio Lüxfällan with producer Kristoffer Ragnstam and recorded 10 songs. All of the songs were recorded live to capture the creative energy the band has together - in only three days. You can feel the energy of country rock and hippie rock from miles away, so the label Ella Ruth Institutet jumped on the wagon and released the album ”Let Me Take You For A Ride”.
