Ambiance in the Glass Garden is a pilot event, promoting an alternative for a night out built around connection with yourself and each other, accompanied by experimental ambient music.
We are striving to create a place for people to come together over a shared meal, and a deep audio visual experience allowing the participants to sink into the music and their own emotions. This event is a step towards building an ambient music scene, providing platform for local and international artists to share the softer side of their work.
For this event, Catnip will perform a 4h long extended AV set, making sound, lights and video come together into an immersive story.
20:00: Dinner served (for those who have purchased the ticket with dinner)
21:00: Music starts
Catnip
Karol Szechnicki is an Oslo-based DJ, VJ and promoter, whose sets explore the deeper edges of electronic music. Known for a flexible and intuitive approach, he focuses on shaping selections that respond to the time, space and energy of the room rather than adhering to a single sound.
As Catnip, drawing from the lineage of sound system culture, his sets move through dubstep, dub techno, roots-driven bass music and left-field club sounds, always prioritizing weight, space and groove over hype. Recently he has been expanding into more atmospheric territory, working on AV-focused ambient listening spaces within Oslo’s underground.
Beyond DJing, Karol experiments with visual projection, creating immersive environments where sound and image meet. His involvement in the scene extends beyond the booth: he is a co-founder of Dub Bakery, part of the team behind Tað Club, Frifelt, stage manager at Under the Rug, and a contributor to projects such as Nomadic Chai and Monument.
