DION LUNADON (NZ/US) til RiP, som ett av to steder i Norge!
Born in Auckland, New Zealand and now residing in New York, Dion Lunadon played with several bands during the ’90s and 2000s, most notably The D4, who released two albums on legendary NZ label Flying Nun Records.
After The D4 broke up in 2006, Lunadon moved to New York City. He then started playing bass for noise rockers A Place To Bury Strangers, appearing and writing on their studio albums Worship (2012) Transfixiation (2015) and Pinned (2018) as well as several singles and EPs.
While taking a break from touring with A Place To Bury Strangers, Lunadon recorded a self-titled solo album encompassing all that he loves about rock n roll. Previewed by the single “Com/Broke,” Lunadon’s LP arrived in 2017 on Agitated Records.
In March 2020 Dion decided to leave APTBS and concentrate full time on his own music. In June 2020, he released the song “When Will I Hold You Again” and September 2020 saw the release of the “Schreien” EP. In June 2021 Lunadon decided to put a band together to give his songs life.
After releasing his self-titled debut album in 2017, Dion Lunadon (The D4, ex-A Place To Bury Strangers) released his sophomore album - Beyond Everything June 10th 2022 via In The Red Records.
Beyond Everything will be Dion’s first release on In The Red (an ideal match for his music), as well as his first full-length since departing A Place To Bury Strangers. Written, performed and recorded by Dion, the songs tap into a raw, palpable energy that blur the line between the music and the person. Drums on the record were played by Blaze Bateh (Bambara) and Nick Ferrante (The Black Hollies).
“An arresting, noise-infected dose of psych-garage.” (It’s The Truth) Brooklyn Vegan
“An amped up garage psych ripper.” (Living And Dying With You) Brooklyn Vegan
“A ferocious rocker.” (Living And Dying With You) Destroy Exist
“A gritty and raw glam-like anthem centered around chugging power chords, Lunadon’s howled and desperate delivery, forceful and propulsive drumming paired with an explosive feedback-driven coda, “It’s The Truth” further cements the Kiwi-born, Brooklyn-based artist’s reputation for crafting anthems meant to be played as loud as humanly possible.” Joy Of Violent Movement
-Deichman Musikk
“…kult…” -Under dusken
"Doom-riffene her høres ut som tåkeluren fra The Lighthouse, den berusede vokalen låter som en veldig innrøyket Kim Gordon, trommene som tidlig Swans – alt mikset røft sammen i samme gate som Spiritualized." -Natt&Dag
“Porto Geese slipper singelen Screens” -Bodøposten
Dette gleder vi oss vilt til, og vi anbefaler ørepropper
